The Statistics

Adaptive Calisthenics

According to recent statistics, one billion people, or 15% of the world’s population, experience some form of disability, and disability prevalence is higher in developing countries. In total, an estimated 135 million people in Europe live with a disability.

We believe that everyone should have access to quality fitness training, regardless of their abilities. That’s why we offer calisthenics training that is specifically designed for people with disabilities. Calisthenics is the basis of every sport and can help athletes develop their strength, endurance, and flexibility.

For Coaches and Trainers Globally

Elite Coach Manual

The Adaptive Calisthenics training methods have a beneficial effect on joints and tendons, which is good for people with disabilities in general. In fact, Para Calisthenics games can create a favourable environment for the development of people with disabilities. The sport provides para-athletes who cannot continue anymore in their own sports a new competitive sport to be part of in the Para Calisthenics games.

Adaptive Calisthenics can be their main or sub-sport and training method. It provides athletes with disabilities the opportunity to play almost any sport at any level. The elite levels can be only fractions behind athletes without disabilities.

Adaptive Calisthenics

Champions Factory, a partner of The Calisthenics Club, has implemented the Adult education project “Sport for people with disabilities”, within which 4 sports coaches from Bulgaria had the chance to visit TCC in Amsterdam for the duration of 10 days and develop innovative methods to develop the skills of people with physical disabilities through Calisthenics.
